Professions Contract for Teachers now Permitted!

After countless discussions and the potential threat of legal intervention, the REC and DfE have formally removed the use of the 'Professions' exclusion for education agencies and as such, it will no longer have a bearing on the REC Quality Mark.

GOOD NEWS! – BIS PUBLISHES THE AGENCY WORKERS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2011

The Department of Business Innovation & Skills (BIS) has today published the Agency Workers (Amendment) Regulations 2011 (“the Regulations”). The Regulations aim to correct various errors in the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 (“the AWR”). The Regulations will come into force on 1 September 2011 (a month before the AWR).

The government has today announced six new principles in its guidance on the Bribery Act, due to come into force on 1 July 2011. The government says the Act aims to ensure the UK can clampdown on corruption without being burdensome to business. For example, ensuring anti-bribery procedures are proportionateto the bribery risks firms face and to the nature, scale and complexity of its activities.
